Ryan Frederick to Speak on Building More Age-Integrated Communities
Baltimore, Md. (November 12, 2018) – Ryan Frederick of SmartLiving 360 will speak at the 20th anniversary of the Encore.org Summit. The Encore Summit is on Tuesday, November 13th and Wednesday, November 14th at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel.
The conference program includes a set of “hot topics”, including one on “Ending Age Segregation”. Donna Butts, CEO of Generations United, will facilitate this session. Mr. Frederick will speak specifically to the opportunity to build more age-integrated communities. “It is time for us to move on from age-segregation,” says Frederick. “There are ample opportunities in real estate development and in modifying existing buildings to make our built environment work for people of all ages and help build a sense of connection at the same time.”
In his talk, Mr. Frederick will talk about lessons from The Stories at Congressional Plaza, an innovative intergenerational apartment building in a walkable, mixed-use area of Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington D.C. The Stories was developed in conjunction with SmartLiving 360 and Federal Realty Investment Trust.
